Here at the Friday HQ we’re always looking to see what is happening in the ever-changing world of modern art. It always inspires us to see what other creatives are doing around the globe and how their work is making an impact on both the art and global community!
Enter a technicolour, whimsical interactive art experience, located in the heart of San Francisco, called The Color Factory. When you head over to the 12,000 square foot rainbow of fun, it’s important to recognize that this is not an art exhibit or a spot there to teach you what colour is. It’s simply a place for both kids and adults to play, explore and grow one's imagination while taking hundreds of beautiful photos to post on your Instagram later.
Yes you read that correctly! This vivid space has been designed with natural lighting in mind to give attendees a full sensory experience and a plethora of #unfiltered Instagram opportunities. With that being said, a photograph truly doesn’t capture the entire essence of the frenzy of colours each room displays, as it is a place that encourages you to live in the moment, try new things and has created a conversation around art and the inclusion of social media.
This two-story explosion of colour was initially conceived by Jordan Ferney, some may know her from her creative blog “Oh Happy Day.” Together with local artist + creative director Leah Rosenberg, and New York-based designer Erin Jane, the three collaborated with a variety of artists from around the country to pull-off 15 original works of art in the rainbow striped space.
From confetti rooms, a Life Size Lite-Bright, a Yellow 207,000-Ball Pit, a Magic Jukebox, Disco Rooms, bathrooms made of whoopee cushions and MORE! This experience will have you sensorially tickled and on a colour overload.
The best part is that this rainbow experience is not confined to the 4-walls of the “Factory.” They have commissioned 17 other colour experiences that overflow throughout the city of San Francisco! Whether you’re just visiting or you call the Golden City your home, touring to each one of these murals is a great way to experience the city in a very unique and different way!
The Color Factory is a creative and joyful place allows you to learn what it truly means to have fun – no matter how old you are!
We can’t believe that this team worked their day jobs and were able to pull off this incredible art experience on their evenings and weekends. As fellow creativepreneurs we have a huge respect for these ladies and the work they have created! Bravo!
